Heater is an auxiliary evaporator of liquefied petroleum gases, which prevents the penetration of butane condensate into gas consuming equipment. The heaters are usually applied with the local surface gas pipelines connecting the main evaporators with the consumer’s systems. However, such heaters may also be required for the subsurface pipelining during especially hard winters, when the estimated depth of soil freezing is exceeded significantly.
The LPG vapour phase is supplied from evaporators at a temperature of 40–60 degrees. If the pipelines are too long or there are pauses in gas consumption, in winter, the vapour phase temperature can go below zero reaching the point of butane condensation. If the resulting condensate comes into contact with the running equipment, it may cause damage to the equipment and even a fire. This problem can be solved in two ways— by using subsurface pipelines installed below the winter level of soil freezing or by means of good thermal insulation and cable heating of surface piping.
However, at low temperatures, these methods do not guarantee the complete absence of condensate. Therefore, special condensate collectors are used to remove the condensate. Their condition and filling level must be monitored, while the accumulated butane condensate, as a rule, is disposed of, which leads to pointless expenditures.
FASENERGOMASH, LLC has developed a vapour phase heater, which is installed directly in front of the consumer and prevents the formation of condensate or evaporates the already formed condensate. It is designed as an electric LPG evaporator of relatively low power. FASENERGOMASH, LLC is currently producing a range of heating evaporators with a capacity of 60 to 600 kg/hour.
